Bucks Mills Quay

The Quay was built in 1598, and you can see it in Turner’s painting of Clovelly Bay from the early 1800s. Now it’s a pile of massive rocks, though you can still just make out the original shape of the curving structure. Over time the sea and longshore drift have moved the rocks in increments east towards Westward Ho! Perpetua bold was as close as I could get in letterpress type to those massive boulders, as I imagined the forces necessary to move them along the shore.
